It was a dream come true for an 8-year-old boy when he got an opportunity to swim with the bottlenose dolphin, Winter, widely known for its prosthetic tail, at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium .

An eight-year-old boy Cieran Kelso from England shared a rare moment with the dolphin Winter, the star of the movie Dolphin Tale, who has a prosthetic tale. Cerian is himself a double amputee and a big fan of Winter. Cieran  loves swimming and has custom-built prosthetic flippers, which enable him to swim like a fish.

The local tourism officials flew Cieran along with his family from England to Florida, surprising him with a visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and a rare one-on-one swim with Winter, reports Tampa Bay.

"There are some pretty raw feelings that go into seeing Cieran swim with the dolphin. His first words when he saw the film was 'Winter's disabled, just like me,'" said Cieran's father, Gary. "It's just been a dolphin on a film for a long time and now it's real. It's just a dream come true."

The young boy contracted meningitis when just 13 months old. This disease took both his legs along with his finger tips. He was amputated below the knee. But this disability was never a barrier in his interest in swimming and soccer. With the help of specially designed prosthetic swim flippers he can whip through waters just like Winter.

With the help of the aquarium trainer Cammie Zodrow, Cieran got a chance to swim several laps with Winter. The trainer also taught Cieran to give a gentle tap to Winter signaling her to raise her tail. Cieran held on to Winter's fin and swam besides her.

Cieran plans on returning to the Aquarium when he grows up.
