The Future Of Travel: In 10 Years, Windowless Planes Show Passengers Their Journey

The Center for Process Innovation, a British technology research company, is working to renovate your airplane experience in a way that you might not have thought of. They're actually hoping to remove the windows from passenger planes and replace them with OLED touch screens that extend the entire length of the engine.

For some who are wanting to literally almost have their "head in the clouds," or in this case, at least their eyes, it could be an excellent way to learn more from the beauty going on up in the air. For others who are afraid of heights, this might not be such a good thing. So what's the concept behind it all?

According to officials, windows are one of the greatest sources of unnecessary weight in passenger planes. With OLED screens, passengers could select entertainment and stewardess services while simultaneously being able to visually explore the outside world, too. (If you're comfortable with that kind of thing, that is.)

And yet, most technologies also have their downsides, as well. Some speculate that there could be added light pollution inside the cabin; not to mention those who are afraid of flying would probably never get on a plane again.
