There's a new kid in town and he's already gained a big reputation for himself.
West Penn Hospital in Pittsburg welcomed 12-pound, 10-ounce baby boy Isaac Michael Hall, who hospital officials says is the biggest newborn they have on record, according to The Associated Press (AP).
"When I polled all the pediatricians from this hospital, some of whom date from the early 1980s, there's never been a baby on-record that's this size," said Dr. Andrew Sword of the hospital, in a statement.
His mother, Michelle Hall, gave birth via Cesarean section to her son on Thursday, who measured in at over 25 inches. While the majority of newborns weigh somewhere between five and eight pounds, Hall stepped onto the higher end of the scale. Babies born out of the normal weight range are typically healthy, too. However, sometimes, they may also require extra medical attention in the beginning.
Fortunately, no medical issues have been found for the newborn at this time.
This is the 29-year-old mother's first child with her husband Brad. The couple live in Ellwood City.
