Apple has already started manufacturing its next batch of iPhones. A Bloomberg report noted that the new iPhones will presumably be named the iPhone 6S, holding onto the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch form-factors.
The news confirms an earlier report suggesting that Apple may launch the new smartphones as soon as August, ahead of the typical September release, according to the report.
The new iPhones will reportedly have the same external design as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. However, due to numerous complaints about bending with the current designs, Apple will allegedly be incorporating an improved metal casing to the new smartphones.
The TechEBlog also shared what appears to be a rose-gold iPhone 6S. Furthermore, the new version is rumored to come fully equipped with better camera pixels from eight to 12 megapixels, according to Apple Insider. Since the 4s came out back in 2011, iPhones have had an eight-megapixel camera.
However, if the rumors are true, the biggest takeaway will be the introduction of Force Touch pressure-sensitive technology to the new iPhone displays; these allow users to manually control functions based on the strength of their taps. Something like this was first seen in the Apple Watch, which was unveiled in September 2014. Bloomberg first reported that Apple was planning to add pressure-sensitive displays to the iPhone in 2013.
