The good news for hikers, emergency workers and household owners who are experiencing power failure is that they can now use the LuminAID to light their houses and way for 30 hours. LuminAID lights have been used in over 70 countries especially those who have been affected by calamities such as typhoon, earthquakes and hurricane.
LuminAID solar light (image shown in the video below) is made of TPU, which is an environmental material that is 100 percent PVC-free and phthalate-free with a lithium-ion battery and a monocrystalline solar panel. It has an inflatable LED Technology designed to produce a lightweight and portable lantern that can be easily packed and stored. You must inflate it to distribute bright LED light.
LuminAID has five products namely the Packlite 16, Packlite 12, Packlite Spectra, Give Light, Get and the Light Package. The Packlite weighs about 2.9 ounces. It consists of two bright LEDs that can light 125 square feet area. It can also be set to flash now for 30 hours that is applicable for emergencies, according to Popular Science.
The useful light is solar-charged. You can place it in direct sunlight for 6 to 7 hours. Be sure that it is powered OFF before you charge it. The red indicator light will turn red whenever the solar panel is subjected to sunlight. The light can operate between 20 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius. Its optimal storage temperature is between 15 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius.
The battery can last for many years of continuous use. It has the maximum brightness of 35 Lumens to 65 Lumens. The Packlite 16 has maximum hours of light of 30 hours while the Packlite 12 and Packlite Spectra have 12 hours.
After charging the LuminAID for 7 hours, you may inflate it by simply pinching or biting the valve. Once inflated, press the red ON/OFF button to cycle through light settings. Once done, you may now use the LuminAID light. It is waterproof and can float too.
