Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs, Price: Next Gen Surface Pro To Get A September Launch?

Rumors about Microsoft's highly anticipated Surface Pro 5 has been making round these days. While the software giant is yet to provide specific details with regard to Surface Pro 5 development and release date, the laptop-tablet hybrid is expected to get unveiled in September, reported Australia Network News.
In fact, there are conflicting speculations being made about the device's release date. Some reports claim that the next generation Surface Pro release might get delayed to 2017.
According to Yibada, Microsoft is apparently keen in using the upcoming Intel Kaby Lake processing chip for its line of hybrid devices. It is expected that use of Kaby Lake chip will double the efficiency of Microsoft Surface Pro 5. But the problem is that the chip will not be ready before the end of 2016 and this will indirectly postpone the release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5. The current Surface Pro 4 lineup is powered by Intel's latest Skylake processors.
Talking about the specifications, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to feature a 4K Ultra HD screen display with a resolution of 3840 pixels in width - a major improvement from the 2736 x 1824 resolution of the Surface Pro 4.
The new Surface Pro is expected to feature a larger screen of about 13.3 inches and an improved stylus. Microsoft claims that the pen will be a stylus that will provide an active functionality powered by a rechargeable battery.
Other rumors features of the new Surface Pro 5 include USB type-C port, on-Board Fingerprint Scanner and microSD slot for memory expansion. The next gen Surface Pro device is most likely get a more powerful battery than its predecessor.
The device is expected to come out with a starting price of $899, with an Intel Core i7 model to cost $999, and an i7 Extreme version to cost $1,599, reported CNET.
