It seems fans have already begun speculating about a third installment in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise, possibly dubbed "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3".

It was recently revealed that game publisher Activision is planning to roll out "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance," "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," and "Transformers: Fall of Cybertron" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

As per reports, the Taiwan Game Software Ratings Board has listed both "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" and its sequel "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" on their website, both with a rating of auxiliary 12 and the publisher listed as Activision Europe. In addition to the two titles, "Transformers: Fall of Cybertron" was also listed for PS4 and Xbox One.

It is to be noted that nothing official about the release date for the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance collection has been announced yet.

Activision released "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" for Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 back in 2006. The game allowed players to form their own teams and complete established Marvel groups to get bonus points. The game became so popular that its sequel "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2" was released in 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3 and took on the popular Civil War comic storyline. The first game was developed by Raven Software and the sequel was created by Vicarious Visions.

Now, with the two Marvel Ultimate Alliance games likely getting remastered for PS4 and Xbox One, it is expected that the makers might even plan to roll out a third Ultimate Alliance title soon. It is speculated that a positive reception to the remastered version could lead to "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3" being developed soon afterwards.
