Rumors about Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 7 have been making rounds for quite some time now. While, earlier reports claimed that iPhone 7 might ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, new reports suggest otherwise.
According to a report coming from Endgadget, Rock Fix, a smartphone repair shop based in China's Ganzhou, has posted some photos via Weibo of alleged iPhone 7 parts hinting at the possible specifications. One picture shows a 4.7-inch iPhone 7's lightning cable assembly, which indicates the 3.5mm headphone jack is still in place.
Other leaked pictures show dual-SIM trays, a SanDisk memory chip offering up to 256GB storage option and a dual-lens camera for the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 variant. It is to be noted that if the pictures turn out to be true, then it will be the first time that the tech giant will release its highly popular smartphone with a dual-SIM option. A separate report by Mobipicker, citing leaked pictures, claims that the upcoming Apple iPhone 7 has dropped the iconic physical home button in favor of a touch-sensitive one. The pictures show a slightly re-positioned front camera and proximity sensor and narrower lower and upper bezels on the handset.
The home button in the pictures is perfectly in level with the rest of the bezel and cannot be pressed in. This hints that the button is touch-sensitive. The report claims that users will have to tap the button to perform various functions, like tap and hold for Siri, double tap to see the running apps, etc.
It is also rumored that Apple iPhone 7 might get rolled out in a new color option when it gets released in September. According to Japanese website Mac Otakara, citing sources from China, Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be rolled out in dark blue, silver, gold and rose gold color options. This means that the iconic space gray color theme will not make into the list this time.
We advise our readers to take the information with a big grain of salt as Apple is yet to announce what it has in store.
