The Pokémon GO craze continues to go global, and what better way to improve tourism than to make sure that tourist know where to go to find their Pokémon. In Rhode Island, a tourism bureau is capitalizing on the latest craze by publishing a guide to help players hunt the little imaginary creatures as they walk around the city.
According to The Virginian Pilot, the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau had already started to map out specific locations in the city of Providence where local pedestrians or tourists can find and catch rare Pokémon or restock their virtual items that they would need to capture them.
The GPS-powered reality game invites players to visit known as Pokéstops, which are located at real-world historic sites, public works of art and other landmarks.
The blog series GoProvidence.com was launched to help Pokémon GO players find their around Providence. Makers of the blog series claims that there is no other place to be, if you're a Pokémon hunter, than Providence. According to CBS Baltimore, there are a lot of places with several PokéStops around a crowded place.
The first entry in the online blog series is a Pokémon- themed tour of Providence's Riverwalk. The bureau described it as a good place to look for rare creatures that can only be found and caught near bodies of water, providencejournal.com reported.
After the Riverwalk, the next entry was the Federal Hill. Little Italy in Providence was said to have at least 15 PokéStops on a half-mile stretch of road. It also said that although you will need to walk about 1km for your egg incubators, there is a 100 percent chance that you will find some awesome Pokémon. The blog's author Nicholas Millard, when there were at the area, Pokémon they spotted were an Abra, Meowth and a Diglett. They also found smaller Pokémon like Weedles, Pidgeys and Spearows.
So if you're ever in Providence, make sure to check on the blog site to know the places to hunt for one-of-a-kind Pokémon.
