New reports suggest Apple's much anticipated iPhone 7 is going to get released on September 23 and not on September 16 as previously reported. In fact, there are also reports which claim that the release date might get delayed to December in wake of unending leaks.
According to a screen capture of US mobile network AT&T's retail schedule, obtained by 9To5Mac, the next gen Apple iPhone iteration will go official on Sept. 23 and pre-orders for the handsets will begin on Sept. 9. Looking back, the iPhone 6 was launched on September 12 and went on sale a week later on September 19, while the iPhone 6s went up for pre-order on September 19 and hit stores by September 25 last year. So, there are high chances that both the rumored dates could be true. It is to be noted that the Cupertino is yet to announce the iPhone 7 release date officially.
As far as iPhone 7 specs and features are concerned, the next gen Apple handset is expected to get rolled out in two variants- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Both the handsets are expected to come pre-loaded with Apple's latest iOS 10 operating software. Rumors are that both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will get enhanced camera features than their previous counterparts. MacRumors reported that iPhone 7 will get an optical image stabilization (OIS) feature, which was only present in plus versions of the iPhone 6 and 6s. The 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus is expected to feature a dual-camera setup. Among other specs, the new iPhones are expected to pack an A10 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB base storage option and a new 256GB storage variant.
In addition to Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray and Silver color options, Apple iPhone 7 Plus is also rumored to come in a Deep Blue color variant, reported PhoneArena. The picture shows the handset with curved corners, anodized metal-based shell, redesigned antenna lines and a dual-camera module at the top left corner. The 3.5 mm jack is missing in the picture.
