Journey to space is possible now for all people through Overview 1, the world's first virtual reality cube satellite. You can see the awesome and amazing planet and the Universe in the comfort of your home.
Ryan Holmes, the SpaceVR founder and CEO explained that they are going to offer virtual reality content and live to people from space. He further explained that anyone will have the opportunity to sit down and put on any VR headset and be immediately immersed in the majestic beauty of space. You will see the Earth against stars and this will give it a depth to the experience, assured the SpaceVR founder.
Overview 1 will provide high-definition live images of earth and space to a VR headset. This will be launched in June 2017. The SpaceVR has signed a launch agreement with SpaceX. It will be transported on board a SpaceX ship, which usually delivers cargo from Earth to the ISS, according to Huffington Post.
The Overview 1 will use the NanoRacks'CubeSat Deployer to orbit the Earth. Nanoracks is a company that manages the commercial laboratory aboard the International Space Station. The Overview 1 will be in the SpaceX's Dragon cargo capsule during the CRS-12 resupply mission to the International Space Station next year, according to The Verge.
Holmes explained that Nanoracks will put inside a box with other satellites. This box contains spring-loaded slots. It will be placed on the rocket which will be launched to the space station. He further explained that the ISS astronauts will then use a robot arm to grab the box and will activate the spring-loaded launchers, which will shoot Overview 1 into orbit.
