While, game developer Rockstar Games hasn't even confirmed the existence of the next installment of the popular "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, possibly titled "Grand Theft Auto 6," rumors about the highly anticipated game's release date, gameplay and location have flooded the internet.
Rockstar's parent publisher, Take-Two Interactive, revealed during its recent earnings report that the game developer has already begun work on some future exciting projects and will be announcing more details about the games soon. Fans are hoping that two of the highly anticipated sequels "Grand Theft Auto 6" and "Red Dead Redemption 2," will make it to the list this time. There are reports which claim that the announcement will be made at the PlayStation event which is scheduled to happen on September 7 in New York. PlayStation insider @Tidux also recently posted a message on Twitter which suggests an announcement from Rockstar could arrive shortly, reported iDigitalTimes.
However, according to a report coming N4BB, the announcement of "GTA 6" at the PlayStation event is unlikely as the latest GTA sequel isn't expected to be get released until 2018 or 2020. Another purported reason for delaying "GTA 6" release could be "Red Dead Redemption 2." It is reported that the follow up to the 2010 blockbuster, Read Dead Redemption, will get its sequel announced ahead of the much-awaited "GTA 6."
Talking about "GTA 6" gameplay, map and location, it is expected that the game will remain in the United States and will be based in Jacksonville. It is assumed that Jacksonville would be an appropriate fit for the next "GTA" game as it is referred to as the "murder capital" of the U.S. The "GTA 5" follow up is expected to feature a female protagonist to be voiced by Hollywood star Eva Mendes. Mendes' real-life partner Ryan Gosling is also rumored to voice one of the game's male characters. Readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt as nothing yet about "GTA 6" release date or gameplay has been announced by the makers.
