Sony has recently introduced the latest and updated design of its FES smartwatch. The FES Watch U sports an e-ink display and can be paired with your phone. But, the most exciting part is that the e-ink is not only on the face of the watch. The flexible e-link can also be found on the band.
Tech Crunch reported that Sony is using the FES brand name because the company wants to highlight the fashion aspect of the watch. While some users think the watch is too big, they all agree that it will stand out compared to other smartwatches available in the market. Users can change the entire face and bank of the watch in just one press of a button.
FES watch U black model is made of top of the line materials such as steel and sapphire glass for the body, while other models use the traditional glass instead of the traditional leather, plastic or textile band, depending on what design you want to purchase. The wrist wear is also waterproof and since the e-ink technology is very efficient when it comes to energy consumption, the smartwatch's battery can last up to three weeks.
According to highsnobiety.com, the watch comes with 12 different face and band designs, though you can save up to 24 designs of the FES. The waterproof watch is not the first smartwatch to feature e-ink, although the watch's ability to change the design of its band separates it from other smartwatches in the market today.
Meanwhile, consumers in other parts of the globe will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the FES watch U. Like the previous FES watch, the Japanese tech company is still having a crowdfunding campaign for both its FES watches, to see if consumers out of Japan are interested in purchasing it. However, a report in Yahoo said that the smartwatch was a huge hit in its home country that the tech company has decided to release a new one.
