How much coffee can an average person consume in a day? How much coffee can you consume? If your answer is "a lot" then this may be good news for you. A café in Australia claims to serve the strongest coffee ever. The café even says it is 80 times stronger than a regular shot of espresso.
The Adelaide Ass Kicker is said to be the strongest coffee in the world. if you're one of those people who can't get enough of coffee, then this may be just the right one for you. Viscous Café, the one that makes the coffee says that the Ass Kicker comes with a warning for those who have heart conditions and high blood pressure.
Mirror.co.uk reported that a regular espresso coffee has, on average 77mg of caffeine in a 44ml shot. The Mayo Clinic states that an adult can have up to 400mg of caffeine a day, saying that the amount is safe for most healthy adults. It was also reported that insomnia, the inability to fall asleep, usually accompany a caffeine binge.
According to India Today, a report by Mashable said that the first time the beverage was brewed it was allotted for a nurse in an emergency department who needed help to stay awake for her graveyard shift. It was said that she finished the coffee over the course of 2 days and resulted to being awake for three straight days. A large cup of Ass Kicker is recommended to be consumed over a 3 to 4 hour period.
A report in CNN said that Steve Benington, owner of Viscous Coffee, opened his café a year and a half ago after serving in the Australian Navy. He said that the turbo coffee has become the favorite in recent weeks. However, he strongly opposes customers to try the beverage for fun, and warns people with health conditions ahead of time. "I have a quite detailed talk with people before they actually purchase one. If I can talk someone out of it, they're not ready for the drink," said Benington.
It is also important to remember that warning signs of coffee overdose include shakes and sweats, dilated pupils, stammering over your words, vertigo and nausea. "If you keep going, those symptoms will get worse," said the coffee-loving business owner. "If you stay within the guidelines, you're fine."
The Asskicker experience will set you back $16 AUD - or about £11.94 or $12 - for a 16 ounce cup, or around 454ml.
