MacBook fans were expecting Apple to announce the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 at its September 7 special event which saw the launch of iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Apple Watch Series 2 and more. Unfortunately, the same did not happen. New reports suggest that MacBook Pro 2016 might get a release date sometime in October alongside Apple's new iMac desktop, iPad Mini 5 and MacBook Air 2016.
While, some reports are claiming that Apple MacBook Pro 2016 will likely get a release date in October, others aren't too sure if next gen Macbooks will come out this year. The Intel's Kaby Lake processor is expected to be the reason behind the delay in release. It is to be noted that the chip maker has already announced the 7th generation Core processor and started shipping the new gen chips to device makers. So, there are chances that the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 might get released this year. However, according to the Mac Observer, the upcoming next MacBook Pro will include Skylake chipsets and not the much rumored Kaby Lake. It remains to be seen which of the two will make it to the next gen Apple laptop.
Among other specs, the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to get a 5K Apple display with 5120 x 2880 screen resolution, a touch-sensitive secondary OLED bar and run the new macOS Sierra. Thanks to macOS Sierra that the next gen Pro laptop will support the upgraded version of USB-C, also known as USB 3.1 Gen 2, which will offer speed of 10Gbps. There are high chances that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 will get the SuperSpeed+ USB ports as well as Thunderbolt 3 support. Thunderbolt 3 is expected to offer blazing speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second, and DisplayPort 1.2 connectivity.
Apple's Touch ID fingerprint recognition technology, powerful AMD Polaris graphics, 4G cellular connectivity as well as Apple's intelligent personal assistant, Siri are also expected to be on board. The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to get launched in two 13-inch and 15-inch screen size variants with a price tag of between $1,299 up to $1,499.
