All those gamers out there who were waiting for The Last Guardian there is heart-breaking news. Well, Sony has announced that it will not be able to release the game on Oct. 25. Instead, Upi.com reported it is set to be released on Dec. 6 because of a few bugs that need to be taken care of.
It is not the first time that the Last Guardian release date has been postponed due to technical reasons. Something similar happened during 2011 when it couldn't be released because of the compatibility issues.
The original plan was to release it for Play Station 3. But the old console couldn't handle Team Ico's highly advanced vision so it got delayed for a long time until it was re-announced by Sony at E3 2015. During this time Ueda was the director and he offered creative guidance through his brand new studio ThegenDESIGN.
The popularity of The Last Guardian PS4 is mainly because of the legendary Team Ico videogames ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Playstation.com reported that just like these infamous Team Ico video games, The Last Guardian is also a puzzle game where you need to find your way through mysterious ruins with the help of a giant winged creature.
Recently Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE Worldwide Studios confirmed the delay in a blog post. According to the post, some unexpected bugs were encountered by the team during the final stage of development.
Here are some of the excerpts from the PlayStation Blog post:
"Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN, and JAPAN Studio has a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian's touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans that have supported us for so long."
"Our development continues to push itself to the fullest and we look forward to revealing new content towards launch. We appreciate your continued support."
