It seems gamers will have to wait a little longer for the highly anticipated gaming title "Dead Island 2" as nothing yet about the game's release date has been officially announced by the makers. The zombie survival game sequel was first announced almost two years back during PlayStation's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2014. In fact, an early version of "Dead Island 2" gameplay was also showcased at Gamescom 2014.
While Dead Island fans were expecting the game developers to announce at least something about "Dead Island 2" release at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, the same did not happen. Fortunately, there are new reports which claim that publisher Deep Silver has postponed the open-world zombie game "Dead Island 2" release date to 2017.
The much-rumored zombie game was originally supposed to get rolled out in August 2015. But, it was after the then developer failed to wrap up the game in a time that the release was postponed to 2016. When Deep Silver and Yager Development parted ways in 2015 it was believed that "Dead Island 2" would be axed. However, the game resurrected again after UK studio Sumo Digital was handed over the reins back in March, reported EuroGamer.
The game's cancellation rumors fueled again in 2016 after it was removed from Steam's search engine page in May. However, Deep Silver immediately took to social website Twitter to assure gamers that they are still working on "Dead Island 2," and that they would be revealing more information about the game "at a later stage," reported CrossMap. "Dead Island 2" is expected to be available for the Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
