In an event later in the day, Google is speculated to launch the Daydream VR headset alongside Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. The Daydream VR headset would be compatible with the two new smartphones that will be launched.

Google's Daydream VR headset is rumored to be priced at $79, which seems cost-effective. At $79 the Google's Daydream VR headset will be widely favored by the masses. Comparatively, Samsung is selling its Gear VR for $99.

The VR headset will work with high-end phones that come with Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system. Google's Daydream would be a VR extension of its operating system. It won't be anything like HTC vive or Oculus Rift as you would need a phone to power the Google's Daydream VR headset.
Unlike the other Virtual reality headsets, Google's Daydream VR headset will not have a touchpad navigation. Google will ship a handheld controller which will work like a Wii remote. It can be used both in VR experience and gameplay. Reported variety.
Google's Daydream VR headset is rumored to have been built by HTC. HTC has also manufactured both Pixel and Pixel XL set to be unveiled today at the Google's event. There are certain specifications that Google has laid down, fulfillment of which will make a phone Google's Daydream VR headset ready. ZTE's Axon 7 which is priced at only $399 is Daydream ready.
Google is also set to unveil further details about Google Home that will be on the similar lines of Amazon echo. A 4k Google Chrome Ultra, a digital media player capable of streaming 4K resolution content to an HDMI-equipped display will also be unveiled at the event. As reported in Cnet.
