World of Warcraft’s Game Director, Tom Chilton Quits, To Lead A New Project For Blizzard

Tom Chilton, game director for World of Warcraft announced that he is stepping down from his current position. Ion Hazzikostas, will be taking his position as Game Director for World of Warcraft. Hazzikostas started his career in WoW in 2008 as encounter designer and moved up in the ladder as assistant game director and finally as the game director.
Tom Chilton joined World of Warcraft as a senior game designer in 2004. He even worked on Ultima online before joining the world of Warcraft. When cataclysm expansion was launched in 2010, Tom Chilton grabbed the position of Game director. It's been 12 years since he worked as a game director of World of Warcraft. Tom Chilton did mention that he wants to experiment something new now, reports Polygon.
According to PCgamer, the sixth expansion pack for World of Warcraft which was launched in August received tremendous support from the game lovers and from critics as well. This sad news of Tom Chilton leaving World of Warcraft has hit the fans.
Chilton further stated that his personal journey with WoW has come to an end but he is still associated with Blizzard. He further stated that he will be looking at other projects of Blizzard.
Reporters asked Chilton if the hint of new projects is related to the release of a new game series but Blizzard denied these rumors and said whatever they wanted to share related to this news is already been released by Tom Chilton and they don't want to comment on anything further. It is interesting to note that all the Chilton's game design experience in on multiplayer games only. Earlier Blizzard had announced that a MOM follow-up of World of Watch is developed and it named as Titan Blizzard recently released it as a shooter known as overwatch.
