Netgear Nighthawk X10 Router: 'World's Fastest Router' Gets A $500 Price Tag

Use of internet for video streaming has peaked manifolds in recent times. But, the thing which annoys video streamers the most is waiting for the video to finish buffering. Well, Netgear has come out with a solution for the issue. Netgear has recently announced the Nighthawk X10 router which it claims is the fastest internet router to date. The router will reportedly be It will be marketed as an AD7200-class router.
What's the most interesting thing about Netgear's Nighthawk X10 router is that it is capable of delivering whopping speeds of up to 7.2Gbps, all thanks to its Quad Stream Wave 2 WiFi architecture. The newly introduced interne router features a quad-core processor running at a speed of 1.70GHz, reported Venture Beat.
Notably, the 1.70GHz quad-core processor is the fastest chipset ever used in internet home routers. There's also the latest MU-MIMO technology onboard which supports simultaneous streaming. There's also the Plex Media support that will enable Nighthawk X10 router users to turn any USB 3.0 hard disk or flash drive into a server, without requiring a computer, reported Engadget.
Michael Thelander of the Signals Research Group, noted in an official statement that the superior capabilities of 802.11ad will significantly enhance the user experience when dealing with applications that require the transferring of large amounts of data. He added that it will also provide approximately one-tenth the latency, as compared to 802.11ac. Notably, there only one more router, the TP-Link Talon AD7200, which claims 802.11ad support. The maker claims that the newly introduced home router is the first to come with a 10-gigabit port with support for a fiber connection.
