A chunk of aluminum metal discovered in Romania during the 1970s is resurfacing questions whether it is part of an UFO, implying that aliens visited earth thousands of years ago. The metal was found buried 33 feet under the sand in the town of Aiud near the Mures River, along with two more objects said to be the remains of a mastodon.
The discovery reportedly led to suggestions that extraterrestrial beings had visited our planet, due to the nature of the unearthed object. Humans began to produce metallic aluminum only 200 years ago, so finding such a piece of metal that seems to date back 250,000 years, as estimated by Romanian officials, is baffling - leading to the assumption of it being a leftover from an alien visit. Furthermore, lab tests carried out in Switzerland's Lausanne indicated that the fragment comprised of 12 metals and is 90 percent aluminum.
Other experts who further investigated into the age of the object say that the chunk of metal could date back anywhere between 400 and 80,000 years, which still does not clear the mystery of the object's origin because as mentioned before mankind first produced aluminum 200 years ago. Therefore, the age and composition of the object, which is 7.8 inches in length, 4.9 inches in width and 2.8 inches in thickness, is being apparently claimed to be proof of aliens coming to our planet.
Moreover, another fact that is baffling experts is that there are concavities on the metal which makes it seem like a part of an intricate mechanical system. "Lab tests concluded it is an old UFO fragment given that the substances it comprises cannot be combined with technology available on Earth." said Gheorghe Cohal, Deputy Director of the Romanian Ufologists Association. However, Mihai Wittenberger who is a local historian has claimed that the fragment actually belongs to a World War II German aircraft, but the explanation doesn't seem to explain the age of the artifact, and its origin remains a mystery. For now, the ancient aluminum object is being showcased at the History Museum of Cluj-Napoca.
