Honda has recently unveiled its Honda Civic Type-R 2016 model and it has been making news ever since. Probably the hottest hatchback that the Japan auto manufacturer has so far built, Honda Civic Type-R 2016 was on display as a prototype at the Paris Motor Show.
It's been a long while since Honda launched its last Civic Hatchback, so fans are obviously very eager to get their hands on the new Honda Civic Type-R 2016 model. The latest Type-R sedan version will have many upgraded features and is also expected to be a hatchback. Honda Civic Type-R 2016: Complete Specs
TopGear reports that the Honda Civic Type-R 2016 model will feature a 6-speed manual transmission along with a mechanically limited slip differential. The upcoming Type-R Sedan also scored an amazing 306bhp on the dyno run. Although, the Honda Civic Type-R 2016 hatchback model is expected to have a 2.0-liter Turbo VTEC engine, the Ford Focus RS will be a tough competitor giving an output of 345bhp. The Honda Civic Type-R 2016 will also have a large infotainment screen similar to that of the current European Civic Type R and a carbon-fiber-like trim on its dashboard.
The Honda Civic Type-R 2016 is anticipated to give an output of at least 300HP through its six-speed front-wheel drive manual transmission. The new Honda Civic is also expected to have a wild look completed with new air scoops, functional aero kits, bigger wheels, and spoilers at the rear end. However, the upcoming model lacks a manual e-brake handle, which might upset some of the Honda Civic Type-R 2016 enthusiasts.
Honda Civic Type-R 2016: Looks
Since the launch of the Honda Civic model, the auto manufacturer has applied the R to only a few cars, including the Integra and the NSX. The Honda Civic Type-R 2016 model has already been launched in other parts of the world but this is the first time, the model is coming to America.
The Honda Civic Type-R 2016 prototype was unveiled at the Paris auto show last month, showing off the exterior carbon fiber, the triple exhaust, the rear spoilers, and the bigger 20-inch wheels. Leblogauto has also managed to give us a glimpse of the Honda Civic Type-R 2016 interior.
The pictures reveal the red black colored interior, which includes the steering wheel, the floor mats, the dash and the door trim. The theme is widespread on the reinforced sport seats that feature red inlays on the backrest as well as the bottom.
Fully covered in a polished aluminum wrap, the Honda Civic Type-R 2016 also has several body kit extensions, spats, wings, and gaping intakes. Although Honda has not yet revealed the performance of the new Honda Civic Type-R 2016 model, a new carbon fiber front splitter with its 20" 245-series tires reveal that the Prototype is all set to face its rivals.
