There are of course a lot of smart-phones supporting different OS available in the market at present. We already know a good deal about the next generation operating systems from Apple and Google. Although both the OS are quite good in their own leagues, a comparison between Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10 is a must. After all, there can be only one real king.
If this is your first time for buying a smartphone, you'll realize that choosing one is not that an easy choice as it seems. Now, if you're having trouble deciding whether to buy an iPhone, Android phone, or a Windows Mobile, SWR is here to help. Here's a brief comparison between Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10, you may choose whichever suits you the best.
Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10: Interface Comparison
Apple has decided to take iOS 9's 3D Touch to a new level with the launch of the Control Centre in the iOS 10. The Control Centre, like its counterpart in the previous model, is also 3D Touch-sensitive, which lets the user do numerous things including increasing the torch intensity or setting a specific timer. Apple is offering various widgets on the iOS 10 lock screen as well, which are accessible with a left swipe.
Although the approach is a bit different to Android's home screen widgets, the feature is almost comparable. While Apple's iOS appears to be leading in terms of perceptive interactivity, Android 7.0 Nougat is more likely to keep the multitasking crown. Nougat's Quick Switch enables the user to instantly go to other recent apps by just a double tap on the Recent button.
It's worth noticeable that you can even drag and drop items between the different tabs on Android 7.0 Nougat. However, Apple hasn't yet added this feature in iOS 10. Google also plans to launch its own new pressure-sensitive screen system with the new Android OS.
Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10: Security Comparison
The new iOS 10 and Android are both undergoing tests for security concerns. Although Digital crimes and Data breaches are still some of the major issues, both the new OS offer a higher level of security for their mobile users.
Apple initially had a security problem but it was later able to offer a top-notch OS, which made the iPhone nothing like any previous smartphones. Google has been working on a mobile ecosystem development that makes the Android Nougat devices more reliable.
Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10: Apps Comparison
Windows Mobile Apps are pretty much far behind in number from Android as well as iOS. While there are 2.2 million Android Apps available on the Playstore alone, iOS is just a bit behind with over 2 million apps in the Apple Store.
iOS has traditionally been a more productive platform for developers and the apps are also relatively easier to develop, so obviously new iOS apps appear first. Although in the U.S., iOS still leads Android, but developers in other parts target Android first. Android OS also gets benefit from the latest versions of Google's apps, which are not present in either of Windows or iOS.
Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10: Affordability Comparison
Apple is not known for making budget devices. The latest iPhone is amongst the most expensive handsets available in the market, with price tags $650 and above. In terms of variety, no one can compete with Android. It's all on the buyer on how much they wish to spend. While Google's new Pixel phones match iPhone's price tag, there's a huge range of low-cost handsets as well.
Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10: Verdict
iOS 10 clearly has more and improved features than the Android 7.0 Nougat. But, if both operating systems are considered as a whole, they're much closer in features to each other. Apple still has a few features that it needs to compete with Android. The most obvious feature being Siri in comparison to Google Now.
While more updates are still to come, it's safe to assign Android 7.0 Nougat as the winner. Stay Tuned to SWR for more latest news and updates on the Android 7.0 Nougat VS iOS 10 comparisons.
