Although Xiaomi has revealed its Mi 5, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, and the Mi Note 2 quite recently. Fans had been eagerly waiting for the official launch of the 2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4. Now, after weeks of speculations, the Redmi 4 smartphone has been reported to be launched this week.
If the reports are true then the company will also launch a cheaper variant, the Redmi 4A, at the same launch event. Here's what we know so far about the 2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4:
2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4: Complete Specs
Gadgets 360 has reported earlier that the latest Xiaomi Redmi 4 will feature a 5" LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, the smartphone will feature a 3GB RAM and an internal memory of 32GB, which is expandable up to 128GB.
The 2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4 is also expected to spec the latest Helio P10 processor. Other rumors state that the upcoming Redmi 4 model will have a full metallic case. The Smartphone may also feature a capacitive button at the bottom front. The power, as well as the volume buttons, will be on the right edge, just like the previous models.
Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone will have a 13-megapixel rear camera combined with a dual-LED flash Light. It will also feature a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. Although no official announcements have been made yet, recent rumors suggest that the 2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4 will still run the earlier Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will have a 4000/4100 mAh battery. Redmi 4 is will have the dimensions of 141.3 x 69.6 x 8.9mm and will weigh around 153 grams.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 may also accompany the reveal of the cheaper and less powerful version, the Redmi 4A. The cheaper version will feature a 5" 720p LCD display and will have a 2GB RAM and an internal memory of 16GB. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A, unlike the 2016 Xiaomi Redmi 4 will run on a less powerful processor, reportedly the 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset. It will, however, features similar camera specs with a 13-megapixel rear camera as well as a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is expected to have dimensions of 139.9 x 70.4 x 8.5mm and will weigh about 140 grams. Having a 3000/3030 mAh battery, the cheaper version will come in two colors, Gold and Rose Gold.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to have a price tag of $200 at the time of its launch. No official announcement has been made regarding the exact launch date yet.
