The next generation of PlayStation is rumoured to be laced with exceptional processing power. There is a lot of hum drum and excitement about the PlayStation 5. PlayStation fans have been awaiting the latest member of the PlayStation family expectantly.

Mark Cerny, the lead architect at Sony, made an important revelation about PlayStation specs and features. He indicated that the PlayStation 5 may include 8 Teraflop GPU and 4K resolution.
"Natively render at 4K, is a personal estimate, but at the very least 8 TFLOPS become necessary will," Cerny said, as per AV Tech via WCCF Tech.
Keeping Up With Competition
Sony is yet to officially confirm this upgrade from their end. However, Sony might just follow through with this rumour as there is tough competition ahead in 2017. Microsoft's Project Scorpio has already garnered a lot of attention and Sony has got to buck up. While Project Scorpio has announced 6 Teraflop GPU, Cerny believes that 8 Teraflops of processing power is a requirement to run games at an astounding 4K resolution.
It will also feature the much talked about VR support. Virtual reality is an essential part of every upcoming gadget and device these days. Sony is expected to follow route to entice more gamers and users. It is also speculated that it would incorporate AMD Radeon chipset with full HD support. We are talking 1700p clarity!
Some rumours also suggest that two models will be released- one with the need of CD and one without.
The expected release of PlayStation 5 is pegged to be the second half of 2018. Sony is yet to comment on PlayStation 5 release date.
