Mercedes Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe has recently been spotted undergoing test drive near the Daimler test facilities in Stuttgart, Germany. The spotted prototype has taken off much of its camouflage and is expected to have a release date much earlier in 2017. There is a huge possibility that the vehicle will be unveiled at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
Spied pictures reveal the car to be in the final stages of its development. Some of its features seem to be inspired from the auto manufacturer's earlier C-Class Coupe Model. Here's what we know about Mercedes-Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe so far:
Mercedes Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe: Looks & Exterior
On an overlook, the exterior of the 2018 E-Class Coupe appears to be very much inspired from the earlier C-Class Coupe. However, the upcoming model seems relatively a bit smaller. The 2018 model has some minor tweaks on the exterior elements, which give it a redesigned look and also has a larger ground clearance as compared to the previous models.
Many new additions have also been made to the Mercedes-Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe to help it compete with its rivals, which include Volvo's XC70 and BMW 6-Series. The upcoming model also features the Airmatic front as well as back air suspensions. Although the outgoing model and the E-Class Coupe appear to have the same fascia, there are many differences that can be easily noticed.
The roofline of the upcoming model smoothly flows down to the trunk. Also, the rear mirrors are comparatively bigger and the horizontal strip between the lights is also absent. The 2018 E-Class Coupe prototype appears to have plastic covered broader wheels, revamped rear and front bumpers and new innovative side skirts.
Although many of the body panels in the upcoming model appears to be similar to those featured in the outgoing model, the new E-Class Coupe on an overlook has a more attractive as well as sleeker look. The wheelbase length seems to be quite the same as that of its predecessor.
Mercedes Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe: Specs & Features
If the recent reports are to be believed, 2018 E-Class Coupe will feature the MRA architecture and a wide array of technology inspired by the executive model, which also includes the semi-auto driving features. If this is true then the new model will come in a variety of powertrain options. The available options will include the four-cylinder turbocharged engine, V6 petrol/diesel engines, and the E 63's turbocharged V8 engine, giving an output of 603bhp.
If the recent rumors are to be believed, the latest six-cylinder inline lump, which is to be featured in the facelifted S-Class, may replace the current V6. Although no official announcement has been made about this yet, the upcoming model will be much capable of taking out the BMW 6-Series models. The Mercedes Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe will feature a standard 9G-Tronic nine-velocity mechanical gearbox. The 4Matic four-wheel-drive pattern, on the other hand, will also be offered as an additional option.
Mercedes Benz 2018 E-Class Coupe: Release Date & Price
While no official news has been announced yet, taking in consideration the prototype being tested, the upcoming E-Class Coupe model will possibly be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, 2017.
