Facebook Inc. is the most employee friendly and empathetic workplace of 2016. Glassdoor and Harvard Business Review have released their individual lists for these categories, where Facebook has trudged ahead of all its competition. It is a big win for Team Facebook!

On December 7, Glassdoor released its list of the "Best Places to Work 2017 Employees Choice" list. This is the 9th list, and it comprised 50 other companies. Facebook topped the list, putting behind competition from Apple, LinkedIn and even Google!

Similarly, Harvard Business Review also released a similar list about most and least empathetic workplaces in the world. The survey was based on the empathy index evolved earlier. The Harvard list was released 2 weeks back and also listed Facebook as the "Most Empathetic" workplace with a 100% score!

The best part about the Glassdoor list is that the results are based on the employee votes itself. Harvard Business Review takes proper surveys and factors into account. So the popular as well the as the technical vote are both in favour of the social media giant!

"Company culture and the employee experience are critical considerations for job seekers everywhere when deciding where to work. To help, the Glassdoor Employees' Choice Awards recognize companies that truly stand out as Best Places to Work because they're purely determined by the authentic voice of those who really know a company best - the employees," revealed Robert Hohman, Glassdoor's CEO and co-founder.

Facebook came overall second in the Best Places to Work 2017 list, making it the top tech company in that list. The first spot was occupied by Bain & Company, which is a management consulting firm. Facebook scored a 4.5 on 5 versus a tough competition from Bain scoring 4.6!

The other tech companies that made it to the top 50 Best Places to Work in 2017 list are:

One interesting this that happened this year was that AirBNB, which topped the 2016 list, was Rank 35. That is quite a fall!

What boosted Facebook?

It has to be a combination of a great work-life balance opportunity and compensation offered. Facebook also offers remarkable fringe benefits to its employees including transport and meals.
