Back in 2014, Porsche revealed its return to top-level endurance racing after a 16-year gap. Audi, its long-time competitor, made a video to welcome Porsche into the game with arms wide open. The video not only poked a little fun at Porsche but also made a real competitive handshake. The two companies do seem to enjoy a healthy fight.

The 2014 Video From Audi To Porsche

The 2014 video showed the old Porsche diesel tractor being raced by an R18 e-Tron Quattro race car to reach the Porsche headquarters. The R-18 does some donuts on the entrance, leaving a "welcome back" message. It was indeed a warm gesture that Audi showed towards Porsche's return, as reported by Motor Authority.

Porsche's Classy Way of Saying Goodbye

Porsche has recently produced a video that showed Audi's earlier message and then the man on the Porsche tractor hears the message of Audi's withdrawal from two-decade long endurance racing. He stops and starts his vehicle as though he has some undone business. He reaches the untouched message left by Audi two years ago. He jumps from his tractor to paint it into a new message. He changes the "Welcome back" to "come back" with his bucket and brush.

The Touching Message From Porsche To Audi

The video ends with Porsche sending a surprisingly touching message to Audi: "Thank you, Audi, for the great fights, We hope you will come back one day to challenge us again." A gesture of competitive spirit from one automaker to another, making it impossible to resist the heart weight down, as reported by Motor trend.

Not only Porsche, fans across the globe are waiting for Audi's comeback into endurance racing for it's where they belong. And the wait begins...
