In the neighborhood of Guizhou, China, an eggstraordinary chicken is laying triple times what would be the normal size egg, and this includes two yolks plus another egg. According to 87-year-old Granny Yang, she said she believers she thought the bird was dying as she was watching it lay the first set of massive eggs. However, since then, the hen has pushed out a whooping five meal-for-twos, according to reports. The last time we showed you a similarly inexplicable super-egg, doubters called it a fake, but Granny Yang suggests it could be due to her hyperproductive chicken's rice-only diet - which might also explain all those Chinese factories pumping out goods in double time.
Yang said that she had never seen anything like this before, but she added that the secret to it laying the "miracle" eggs was its diet, according to the Metro. The hen apparently rejected the corn that was fed to the rest of the chickens and instead opted for rice.
"I've never seen an egg that size before. We have had bobbly ones and long ones but never anything like this," the chicken's owner, Harriet Whitaker, 8, told the Daily Mail. "I thought an ostrich had been into the run overnight."
