An eight-month-old boy in china was brutally stabbed with scissors by his mother for biting her while she was breastfeeding.
He was stabbed 90 times by his mother. The gruesome act that occurred this week came to light after Bao's uncle discovered him in a hapless condition surrounded with blood thrown in the yard of their home. He immediately rushed him to a hospital in eastern China's Jiangsu Province.
The baby received almost 100 stitches and is now in a stable condition. The mother confessed to the crime. According to the authorities, the mother has no history of mental illness.
Bao resides with his mother and two uncles who earn their living by recycling rubbish. When neighbors heard the news they rushed to see the innocent Bao and pleaded with the local government to take the baby away. But the government said that the mother was mentally sound and the baby had two uncles to look after him, reports Daily Mail.
Around the same time when Bao was brutally attacked by his mother, another newborn baby girl in China lost her life immediately after birth when her 18-year-old mother, a hairdresser identified by the name Zhang, flung her out of the window of a block of flats in the north eastern city of Harbin. The event occurred Tuesday after she gave birth to the baby in the bathroom of a flat that she shared with 10 other people reported Telegraph. In another incident reported recently, an infant in Eastern china was rescued from a toilet pipe. His mother, who was not named, claimed it was an accident.
A 2009 study published in the journal, The Lancet, states that approximately 91 percent of 173 million Chinese adults suffer psychiatric issues that are left untreated.
Reports of such cases have raised an outcry and triggered a debate about China's one child policy.
