A Missouri resident was recently arrested for reportedly endangering hundreds of sexual partners by not telling him he has HIV.

According to the Los Angeles Times, David Lee Magnum will appear in court Thursday at the Stoddard County courthouse for formerly exposing one of his lovers to the deadly virus.

The 37-year-old was turned into the police by his old partner who is referred to via court documents as D.B., according to the news organization.

Magnum's former partner, whom he met on craiglist, has also tested positive for HIV, after engaging in sexual activity with the local resident in 2012.

When the two met in October via the website, D.B. claims that he specifically asked Magnum regarding his past and STD history. He said Magnum allegedly lied, stating that he had no record of any sexually transmitted diseases or significant health problems.

It was Magnum's roommate who told D.B. that he was HIV positive.

Since he was diagnosed with HIV, local law enforcement officials say he admits to sexual acts with over 300 individuals. He was hesitant to tell anyone about the virus for fear "of rejection."

At this time, he is currently being held by authorties on a $250,000 cash bond. If convicted, he could face a sentence of up to 15 years in jail.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that approximately 1.1 million people in the U.S. alone were living with HIV at the end of 2009 and 18 percent of them did not know they were infected.

To date, more than 635,000 individuals with AIDS in the United States have died.
