Mother Poisons 4-Year-Old Daughter With Cancer Drugs
A four-year-old healthy Australian girl was hospitalized after her mother poisoned her with cancer drugs that she purchased online.
The mother (22) pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm. She admitted, during a hearing at the Brisbane Magistrates Court, of poisoning her daughter with chemotherapy drugs she bought online between July 2012 and April 2013.
The mother who kept poisoning her daughter over a 10-month-period was arrested after a joint investigation conducted by South Eastern Region detectives along with the State Crime Operation Command's Child Safety and Sexual Crime group.
The girl who never had a history of cancer is recovering from a surgery she never needed. Her body is blanketed with hives she got from the platelets given to her. A central line has been inserted into her thin chest and a thin tube runs through her nose. The doctors first doubted that the kid suffered from leukaemia but then diagnosed her with severe aplastic anaemia, The Australian reports.
The mother pictured every test she conducted on the daughter every bruise and posted it on the Facebook page she created to seek donation to help her with medical expenses. She has managed to get the support of 8,000 people.
"I have come to realize that my life and my children's (sic) life was never ment (sic) to be easy," the mother wrote in a post before her arrest in April according to Television New Zealand. "Someone somewhere is testing us so greatly. My faith is somewhat shaken but I know after shattering into a million pieces, we as a family will pick ourselves up and try to fit these broken pieces back together."
Once the news of the mother's cruel act went viral, most of her supporters showed their disgust and rage towards the inconsiderate mother. The girl's grandfather has requested people to pray for his dying granddaughter.
"Can I ask you save the hate and turn all your focus to positive prayerful thoughts for our gorgeous baby, number one priority is to get her well," the grandfather posted.
The unnamed woman from Gold Coast Australia is in custody since April for inflicting grievous bodily harm to her daughter and is expected to be sentenced at a later date.
