A recent survey shows that women are more likely to put extra effort in a night out with the girls than when going on a date.

The survey showed some interesting results. For instance, women were twice as likely to shave their legs before a fun night out with friends than when going on a date with their significant other. The results also showed that 33 percent of women would buy a new outfit or spend up to 50 minutes getting ready for a girl's night, with just 20 percent of respondents doing the same thing on a date.

Four in 10 of the women also reported that they would rather have a night out with friends than a romantic evening with their significant other.

"A night out with your best friends is always going to be a cause for celebration," said Mecca Bingo, a spokesman for the company that conducted the survey, according to the Daily Mail. "But it's interesting that the night begins long before we set out the door, with women going to all sorts of lengths to look their very best."

"We have thousands of visitors each week, mostly females who make it their mission to enjoy an evening of entertainment," she added. "You can tell that it's all about the lead up, the preparation, the organization and putting on your glad rags."
