Look out for a new toy on the market. It's one of America's favorites: Barbie. Only with a twist. She's now a bit more human, with realistic body proportions made to fit the average woman (in doll form, that is.)

Known as Lammily, the latest doll was created by 25-year-old Pennsylvanian artist Nickolay Lamm. He created this three-dimensional prototype doll while he was attending the University of Pittsburgh, which he graduated from in 2011. While he drafted plans in making the doll, he also used statistics to calculate the numbers by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with average body proportions that fit a 19-year-old woman.

"I'm just a normal dude, sitting on the couch with his laptop, thinking dolls could look better if they had more typical proportions, like what you'd see around you," Lamm said, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I wanted this to be a healthy alternative, and she looks like a healthy, beautiful girl."

Lammily is shorter and smaller than the Barbie most are used to with a shorter and thicker overall stature, yet she carriers a more athletic body type and is also wearing a small amount of makeup.

Fortunately, Lamm has had a significant amount of success with the doll. After starting a website called www.lammily.com, he raised $227,858 from over 6,700 financial bankers within just two days after the start of his efforts and with a goal of raising $95,000.

"I'm not trying to compete with other fashion doll makers in any way, I'm just trying to make an alternative," said Lamm.
