Could Five Pints of Ice Cream a Day Help you Lose Weight? New Four-Day Cleanse
Do you love ice cream and need to drop a few pounds? Well, if so, you're in luck. Gizmodo writer Brent Rose and girlfriend gave the Ice Cream Cleanse a try to rid some toxins from their body and a few extra pounds. This is the first-ever diet craze that was started by Kippy's, a vegan ice cream store in Venice, Calif.
For $240, participants consume between 1,000 and 1,200 calories a day or 70 grams of fat and 20 to 25 grams of sugar per ice cream pint. According to The Daily Mail, the diet was developed to help people lose weight and remove toxins from the bdoy.
"Raw saturated fat is nothing short of a miracle worker in the human body," said Kippy's co-owner Kippy Miller, via Gizmodo. "It helps us digest, repairs the gut, feeds the brain, boosts the metabolism and is a powerful agent of detoxification. Raw saturated fat from the meat of organic coconuts pressed in-house is the main ingredient of Kippy's! Ice Cream, and the magic behind our first ever Ice Cream Cleanse."
To start of the cleanse, participants pick up 20 pints of ice cream, including such assortments as Orange Crème, Dark Chocolate with Himalayan Salt and a variety of other decadent flavors.
So participants could keep up on physical activity, a week-long free pass of yoga classes through Ra Ma Yoga is also included--located next to the ice cream shop. To create the process, Miller worked with Ra Ma founder Guru Jaget for six months. He and his girlfriend had mixed views about the process overall. Though they did lose six pounds at the end, they quickly gained it back when getting back to a regular diet.
