As March 20th marked the first day of spring, warmer weather may also come with a bit of a pain for allergy suffers. All those beautiful flowers and green grass bring more pollen leading to watery eyes, runny noses and aah-choo! More sneezing.

But what are some tips to take and make your spring-time more pleasant?

First off, it's important to recognize that with spring rains, there may be more mold growth inside and outside of your home, along with flowers, trees, weeds and grasses as they begin to blossom in the spring, according to WebMD. Spring can also, unfortunately, stir up dust mites.

For those who may suffer from severe allergy issues, to keep pollen under control, it may be good to wash bedding frequently in hot water, as well as your hair, before heading off to bed. Particularly for hair, lots of pollen can accumulate throughout the day. Dust and pollen can also accumulate in rugs, towels and certain types of furniture.

Keeping indoor air spaces clean is also essential to overall lung health and avoiding coughing and sneezing fits, according to the health organization.

As for medication, there are also a wide ranges of prescriptions or over the counter drugs that can help out. Just ask your doctor.

"If you're suffering from runny nose, sneezing and itchy eyes I will recommend an antihistamine med for your symptoms," note weartv.com. "But if nasal congestion is an issue then it's a decongestant that may be more helpful."

What are some other things you suggest to keep allergies at bay during the spring?
