Women Endure Six-Hour 'Makeover' Before Sex with New Partner
There's no such thing as a 'quickie' it seems.
Thanks to the luxury underwear company Bluebella, a British company known for its underwear, lingerie and sex toys, researchers in the company concocted a survey to determine how much effort women put in before the night with a new partner.
They found that some women may actually spend up to six hours planning in advance for a new night of passion.
More specifically, a third of participants booked a facial to ensure an afterglow, while 32 percent took on spray tanning. Seventy-six percent even said they went to get their hair professionally styled before getting up close and personal.
Waxing was also a critical factor when it came to preparation with new partners. For instance, 53 percent of the survey participants said they booked a salon session before the big night. Thirty-one percent would also treat themselves to a new dress, while two-thirds might invest in a brand new set of lingerie.
On the day of, 74 percent said they would avoid the bread basket and carb dishes at dinner to make sure they had a flat stomach.
Researchers also discovered that when many determine it's the right time, they won't let anything stand in their way-even alcohol, according to 19 percent of the survey participants.
"Of course most men probably wouldn't notice things like a fresh pedicure - but these kind of rituals make a woman feel her most confident self - and confidence is the sexiest accessory of all," said the founder of the company, Emily Bendell, via The Daily Mail. "Lingerie especially plays a huge role for women in a couple's first time. If your wrapping paper is enticing, it makes the gift within even more so!"
