There's a bit of gossip floating around about Apple's iWatch, though the annual Worldwide Developers Conference left little time to discuss this future piece of technology.

Still in its final stages, a new report from the Japanese newspaper the Nikkei says that the iWatch will be on its way by as early as October.

Nikkei reporter Yuichiro Kanematsu did not specify any sources, but said that the "new watch-like wearable gear will run on this OS, which will be equipped with a centralized function to manage users' biometric information via smartphones."

This new gadget will also allegedly carry certain health tracking functions that can monitor blood glucose, blood oxygen, calorie consumption, and sleep activity, and be powered by iOS 8. All of the data will also be able to auto-sync with an iOS device.

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White reported Thursday that watch production would start this month ahead of a September launch, according to MacRumors.

In fact, White predicts that the iWatch may be available even sooner and possibly along with the iPhone 6.

"Our meeting with a tech supply chain company highlighted that initial production of certain 'iWatch' components is scheduled to begin later this month and there are plans for a sharp acceleration into fall," White writes. "Given the trajectory of this ramp and our experience analyzing other product ramps at Apple, we expect the 'iWatch' to be unveiled with the iPhone 6 in September."

Prices for the iWatch are predicted to range from $200 to $300 according to various sources.
