Inmate Dies: Crack Pipe Found In Her Vagina

Thirty-one-year-old April Rollison died a week after having a pipe and a bottle of crack cocaine removed from her vagina.

The Florida resident reportedly had her body scanned at a Polk County Jail. Officials alerted jail staff about a glass pipe and pill bottle that had been stashed inside of her body. She was arrested on Dec. 16 for drug charges, according to Ledger of Lakeland.

Doctors at the Bartow Regional Medical Center removed the drug paraphernalia. However, authorities said they believed that she had already slipped the drugs out and ingested them out when no one was looking.

Deputies believe Rollison secretly took a prescription pill bottle containing crack cocaine out of her vagina and ingested some of the crack rocks that were inside before the body scan.

Once the pipe was removed from her body, Rollison was taken back to jail. The news organization reported that she went into medical distress during booking and eventually died Monday.

She was briefly alone when the nurse grabbed a bedpan and a deputy stood behind a curtain while she used the bathroom, authorities told the Ledger.

Rollison became sick while being booked into jail again and was hospitalized in critical condition after taking an unknown amount of drugs.

On Monday, Rollison, who had been a drug user for nearly 20 years, died, according to her family.
She tested positive for cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine.
