While the vast majority of babies won't start to sprout their teeth until between 4 and 7 months of age, Branson, Mo., baby Alyssa Bailey was a little bit ahead of schedule. When she was born three days after Christmas in perfectly healthy condition, her two lower front teeth had already sprouted in.

"Right when she first arrived everybody was just shocked," said Jaklina Bailey, Alyssa's mother. "Just like, 'she has two front teeth? No kidding? Really?' It was just a big talk about it, you know, in the delivery room."
The doctors and nurses were even more surprised.

Alyssa certainly came out as a beautiful baby and very lucky. Doctor's noted that there's no problem now, but for her parents to keep a close eye on their new baby girl. If the teeth came lose and fell out early, they could become a choking hazard.

The occurrence is certainly rare, though it does occasionally happen. According to health officials, estimates show that it can occur in every 2,000 to 3,000 babies.

Who knows. Maybe this baby was already getting her smile ready to become a Branson hit attraction.
