Turn Your Google Map into a Game of Pac-Man for April Fool's Day
It's an announcement that any old school gamer will love. It turns out that Google Maps has pulled out all the stops in order to turn their mapping tool into a giant game of Pac-Man, just in time for April Fool's day.
Pac-Man is an arcade game that was first developed by Namco and released in 1980. Since then, it's gathered followers and gained steam. There have been several renditions of the game, including Mrs. Pac-Man. In fact, according to the Davie-Brown Index, it has the highest brand awareness of any video game character among American consumers. Perhaps that's why Google decided to add the game to their maps.
Then again, Google has often shown its love for video games. All you have to do is google "Do a barrel roll" or "zerg rush" to know that.
In order to play Pac-Man, just go to Google Maps and choose a location (New York City's grid-like streets are a good option). Then, click the "Pac-Man" button on the left side of your screen. Soon, you'll be munching on dots and fruit. Just remember to watch out for the ghosts.
