Frankfurt newspaper claims that Apple's pool of progressive thinkers is presently working on Project Titan and that the company has a lab secretly operating in Germany's capital. The team is tasked with envisioning and realizing futuristic vehicles.

According to a reliable report on Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Apple is having a covert operation in Berlin on its much-rumored car with fifteen to twenty employees who are actually young professionals from the different sectors of motor industry in Germany. While the report failed to mention their names, these young professionals, only described as "progressive thinkers", have strong backgrounds in areas that include software development, automotive engineering, hardware and sales.

In addition, the report does hint at what to expect if Apple releases a car, echoing the earlier rumors that the new Apple car is all-electric. Nevertheless, the car's self-driving capabilities may not be on the itinerary for the time being.

The company, moreover, is believed to have been looking into unconventional ownership models. It has been reported that Apple is still looking into a car-sharing platform which is much similar to BMW's DriveNow electric car-sharing service as cited on The Week. There are even some supposed manufacturing details. Apple will use Magna Steyr's Vienna facility, a factory that is presently producing cars for Mini and Mercedes-Benz.

In spite of the rumors of the secret lab in Berlin, many believed that majority of Apple's car development is taking place in California where most of the company's employees are working at an Apple-leased facility.

It is no longer surprising that Apple has considered Germany or even Austria for its car production as soon as research and development are finished. The said region has been known to be the home to a lot of many premium automotive brands, which include Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and BMW.

An Apple representative, when reached for comment, offered the typical boilerplate answer, pronouncing that the company does not give any comment on speculation or rumor.
