It was groovy in the White House. They danced to the beat of Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" which the first lady says her favorite.

On Wednesday, the global phenomenon and much acclaimed film, that is Star Wars, invaded the White House. The first family of US marked the 4th of May when President Barack Obama with his beautiful wife Michelle danced excitedly to the tune of Uptown Funk with stormtroopers and the droid character R2D2 in the White House as cited in a news article on CNN.

Fourth of May, as it has been more popularly called, is celebrated across the globe as Star Wars day, a play on the series' often-quoted line 'May The Force be with you'. A video, that went viral overnight, was shared on the official White House Twitter handle according to a report on the Hindustan Times. However, this is not actually the first time for Star Wars characters to show up at White House events.

Stormtroopers, in March, had made an appearance at the White House Easter Egg Roll, and surprisingly one of them fist-bumped President Barack Obama.

Without a doubt enjoying himself, President Obama, gestured stormtroopers to join him as he made his cool moves and danced to Bruno Mars' hit song Uptown Funk, a personal favorite of Obama's wife. But never take our word for it, this comes directly from the horse's mouth. "Oh, this is my favorite song!" exclaimed Michelle Obama as she grooved to the number.

One of the biggest movie franchises in history, Star Wars has earnings which exceeded $6.4 billion. Last December, The Force Awakens, the latest in the series, opened to critical and commercial success. But this year will see the release of a spin-off film, entitled 'Rogue One'.

With the President's internet-destroying performance during the Correspondent's Dinner and now this nerve-wracking dance, Barack Obama, in his eight years in office, has definitely acquired some serious geek credit.
