Max Verstappen Is The Youngest F1 Winner To Date
Max Verstappen just became the fastest rising star in F1 history, being the youngest ever to win in the sport. With a remarkable win in the Spanish Grand Prix, and Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton crashing on the first lap, the 18-year-old just took the crown away from Sebastien Vettel, who won the Italian Grand Prix in 2008 at the age of 21.

Winning at such a young age is unheard of in the sport -- Forbes noted that it is usually a sport won with a lot of practice and a potent career. Verstappen, who was the youngest driver ever to stand on the F1 podium, is also the first Dutch winner of an F1 Grand Prix race, and the first to win in a Red Bull car since 2014.
F1 racers are usually among the highest-paid athletes in the world, and with previous winners signing in millions per contract, it is without a doubt that Verstappen will get a big increase from his modest $500,000 salary before the win. His talent and youth just made hms the most valuable person in the game, and is already said to be in negotiations with Red Bull regarding his contract that is signed through to 2017.
According to website Black Flag, what made Verstappen's win even more amazing is that it was his first race with Red Bull after being promoted from the Junior Team, Scuderia Toro Rosso.
His drive was unstoppable: He made his last set of tires go on for 31 laps around the Circuit de Barcelona -Catalunya -- a feat that second-placer Kimi Räikkönen could not reach.
