SpaceX Next Rocket Launch, Landing Attempt Scheduled On Friday, Watch Live Online
Space X's Falcon 9 will make another trip to geosynchronous transfer orbit to deploy Thailand's Thaicom 8 communications satellite. Its original scheduled for Thursday was delayed. The scheduled for launch window begins at 5:40 P.M. ET (2140 GMT) from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on Friday.

You may watch the spaceflight action live at https://www.spacex.com/webcast. This is the second satellite to be deployed by Space X on behalf of Thaicom. The first one, the Thaicom 6, was successfully deployed by Falcon 9 v 1.1 in January 2014. The Falcon 9 will carry telecommunications satellite Thaicom 8 into a geostationary transfer orbit 20,000 miles above Earth, according to NASA Spaceflight.

Thaicom 8 is a 7,100 lb. communications satellite which was built by Orbital ATK around the GEOStar-2.3 bus. The spacecraft carries twenty-four Ku-band transponders which will be utilized to provide data relay and broadcasting to Thailand, East Africa and India.

The spacecraft is empowered by twin four-panel solar arrays composed of ultra-triple-junction cells. The propulsion is provided by a BT-4 engine built by Japan's IHI Corporation. It has smaller monopropellant thrust for maneuvering and reaction wheels for attitude control.
This is the thirtieth launch to be conducted by the Space X. It is also the twenty-fifth to use the Falcon 9 rocket, which first flew in 2010, according to NASA Spaceflight.
