Asus Unveils ROG XG Station 2 And It Comes With A Powerful Feature

Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has recently revealed more details of the XG Station 2 external graphics dock.

The new feature is getting the thumbs up not only from ROG, but also from other gaming giants like Alienware and Razer. But what makes this new feature gets gamers excited?

The external graphics enclosure or also called the ROG XG Station 2 is a powered box that allows gamers to install a standard Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The external graphics card dock can be connected to your laptop, thus giving you a vastly improved graphics power for an ultimate gaming experience.

The XG Station 2 is even made more interesting since it has a 680W power supply, thus letting you enjoy the world of gaming for longer hours. The external graphics card dock also supports the latest generation of AMD Radeon and GeForce GTX graphics cards. It also has a Thunderbolt 3 connection that can help improve the graphics performance.

If you will be using your laptop other than gaming, simply pull the plug of the XG Station 2 external graphics card dock and your laptop will be back to a standard one. It has four USB 3.0 ports and a LAN port too.

The introduction of the XG Station 2 is a game changer for virtual ready (VR) - graphics processing since it will allow the use of laptops to support and run a high-end VR gaming. Currently, high-powered desktop personal computers are the only capable device to support and run high-end VR. But it will soon change with the coming of the XG Station 2.

During the launch, Asus further shared that the XG Station 2 is a manifestation of the Transformer Range. However, gamers still have to wait for the distribution and pricing details of this new external GPU as these have not been revealed yet as of posting time.
