Vans and Nintendo have teamed up to offer sneakerheads a new kind of hip fashion line using 90s video games as the main them with the Nintendo x Vans Classic line.

This is not the first time that Vans has collaborated with pop culture groups. The company has worked with other brands in the past including “Star Wars”, “The Beatles” and “Disney”. Their ties with Nintendo was already rumored early this year and now all that has become a reality.

The Nintendo x Vans Classic collection includes shoes, clothes and accessories that will feature popular characters from the video gaming brand such as “Super Mario Bros.”, “Donkey Kong” and “Pokemon”. There are some which even show artworks from the first console Nintendo had back in the 80s, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

The apparel line are unisex and include hats, shirts, bags and hoodies aside from the usual shoes that Vans has been primarily known for. Sizes are available both for adults and kids in what should gain heavy attention, particularly the ones who were around during the 90s video gaming era.

And as it turns out, there were a lot of positive feedback with the partnership as they welcomed the Nintendo x Van Classic collection with open arms.

The items are already available in the US and the UK with international retailers expected to follow in the coming weeks. For the ones contemplating on getting one, it would be best to think fast. Engadget reports that a spokesperson from Vans bares that the sale of these collector items will be for a limited time.

So what is there to expect?

Some samples are already out and that included stuff like the “Controller Sk8-Hi”, the “Tie Dye Authentic” and the “8-bit Old Skool”. “Donkey Kong” and “Zelda” inspired pieces will also be available backed by stylish boxes, some mirroring the NES game console.

This new ‘limited time’ Nintendo x Vans Classic collection should be something to look forward to, particularly the ones who lived to witness the video gaming era back in the 90s. Hopefully Vans will have enough stocks ready especially once consumers realize that these are collector’s items to own – from the actual item all the way to the packaging.
