Samsung Updates Gear Watch Designer For Better Gear Fit 2
Samsung tries to make another run at making their Gear Fit prosper and hopefully the new Gear Watch Software can do the trick.
The original Samsung wearable has been struggling in the growing world of fitness gadgets coming from all directions but the Korean company hopes that the new features the updated Gear Watch Designer application can help get it back on course.
The Gear Watch Designer application is compatible for both Mac and Windows and is available from the manufacturer’s online portal. The new app hopes to entice developers to various means like creating new watch faces for the Gear Fit 2.
Aside from that, the Gear Watch Designer app hopes to address the bugs with fixes that should help stabilize the Samsung Gear Fit 2 that can eventually help optimize it for better performance.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 nearing launch
The new Samsung Gear Fit 2 is available for $179, an improved wearable that the company alleges will be a whole lot different and better. Pre-orders were set to start on June 3 and fitness buffs may want to seriously consider the fitness wearable, at least as another option to the growing line of devices one can get in the market.
What does the Samsung Gear Fit 2 have to offer this time around?
At first glance, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 seems a whole lot like its predecessor with the same mold that was out two years ago. The new wearable is longer and a bit wider topped with an updated display – a 1.5-inch curved AMOLED screen that is twice the size of the previous one.
Aside from the aesthetics there is of course the internal specs that potential buyers will be more interested in. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will bank on a dual-core 1 GHz Exynos 3250 chipset, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a 200 mAh battery that should be make the wearable good for three to four days.
Other features include a heart-rate sensor, a GPS and the ability of the device to recall certain exercises that a user embarks on.
If those specs interest you, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 will be officially launched on June 10.
