Rumor mills have it that Samsung might unveil its highly anticipated phablet Galaxy Note 6, possibly named Galaxy Note 7, before its competitor Apple takes the wraps off its next iPhone iteration, iPhone 7.

"Galaxy Note 6/7 launch event is almost exactly two months away," Blass tweeted on Friday. The leakster has claimed that Samsung will launch only one version of Galaxy Note 7 in August.

Recent reports suggest the Galaxy Note 7 will feature a dual camera system. The Electro-Mechanics wing of Samsung is reportedly working on a dual camera lens system that will first appear in the Note 7 Edge, according to Chinese Zhongguancun Online (ZOL). Apple is also rumored to include a dual camera system in its iPhone 7 Plus.

According to reports, Samsung is planning to roll out the Galaxy Note 7 as a direct competitor for iPhone 7 Plus. This is the reason that the smartphone giant is expected to launch its upcoming Galaxy Note phablet as Galaxy Note 7 Edge instead of Galaxy Note 6.

As far as the upcoming phablet's specifications are concerned, the Galaxy Note 7 is rumored to feature a 5.8 inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.  The handset is expected to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.

The Note 7 is expected to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (even Android N), with 64GB/128GB internal memory, 10-nanometer 6GB RAM, and a 4,000mAh battery. The phone's dimensions are purportedly around 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9mm.

The handset is expected to feature the same cameras as the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies and a 12 megapixel rear camera for photos and videos. The Galaxy Note 7 will apparently be rolled out in two versions, a standard version with a flat display and a Galaxy Note 7 Edge with a curved display.

We advise our readers to take the Galaxy Note 7 specification and release date rumors with a grain of salt as Samsung is yet to announce what it has in store.
