The residents in the town of St. Marks just south of Tallahassee are preparing for the coming of the said tropical storm. John Hargan, a bartender at the Riverside Café, said that they are not worried. He added that they have been working all morning buttoning everything up. He also said that St. Marks is a very tight community and they always help each other out, according to USA Today.
The main threat of the storm Colin is a heavy rain with 3 to 5 inches likely across parts of Florida, southeastern Georgia and the coastal Carolinas with locally up to 8 inches possible. Its winds will spread from parts of Florida to the Southeast coast on Monday night up to Tuesday. There is also a possibility of high surf and coastal flooding on Monday afternoon and evening.
The weather officials have warned the swimmers, surfers and boaters to avoid getting in the water as dangerous rip currents are expected to come along Florida's eastern and western shores.
